Valkanhaven History

Part I: Like DunnChester and several other human civilizations in the region of Cirventia, Valkanhaven was born of the “Great Migration” over 300 years before book one: Dark Deception, took place. Some believe that the mountainous, viking-like civilization came before even the massive kingdom of DunnChester to its south, but the general populous would argue that DunnChester was the original settlement of humans within the region.

Fleeing the tyrannical rule of the House of Mezimier in the then Kingdom of Mercillia, the tribes of Valkanhaven were established as differing ideas between elected officials called “chieftains” pressed for individuality, but under one main hierarchy of the Head Chieftain of Valkanhaven.

The seperate chieftains were also of distinguished “houses” themselves. They were powerful in that their tribesmen and women were loyal to the house head. Tribal members devoted their lives to each other through their blood, sweat, and the blood of others if necessary. It was rarely necessary within their own nation, but it was more than necessary for survival as the Valkan nation constantly battled against a savage foe that reigned within the cracks and crevices of the Sorgonii Mountains that bordered the northlands (to be continued) . . .
